Changemakers reflection
This presentation was about the change makers that impact today world. Every group has a different century that’s shows them being a key figure in their century. The 1800 group was amazing, and I love how all their change makers were women (except Sophie who talked about Alexander Bell). The speech flow smoothly and easily from one presenter to another. Great teamwork displayed and was very informative. Group also had detailed videos like the one on Susan B Anthony. Tamia talked about Fredrick Douglas who was personally a change maker for me as an African American woman. Yarety did hers on Florence who was born in Florence that dedicate her life to nursing. I was surprised to hear that it was not a field of work women usually go to which is different from today’s time. It was the first time I hear about Lucretia Mott, who was a women rights pioneer and advocating for slavery to be abolished. Made the first women convention and the key part of women having the right to vote. Janisse was knowledgeable on her change maker. It’s like she learned so much about her and got very inspired which showed through the speech. Group did not have a lot of videos, but I really do not think it was needed since they knew all their material and painted the picture well.
The 1900 group had the most technical difficulties, but they did well maneuver through the obstacles. Mate was on top of her speech after having a hard time before presenting. Mate has Theodore Rooselvet and had very cool videos like an audio of Roosevelt real voice. Alejandro picked his person as Ronald Regan which was a bold choice. He kind of sound a little sick but im glad to see he stuck through to the end. Brihanna talks about Elvis Persley, I love that she did a music act as a change maker. It not an atypical choice but I love how she had fun with this. Glad she showed videos from his concerts that vividly display his impact. Francisco also did an musical act of the Beatles and highlight their impact on stadium touring that we know in today age of music.
The 2000 group was really detailed on the visual of their presentation. They even had an introduction from Manuel in their power point. I think it was a really nice touch that show how hands on our project managers are at doing their jobs. We start off with Saida had Al gore which was an underrated pick. She was very quick but informative. She also had clear tone and enunciate well. Learn about his advocation for climate change that won him a Noble Peace Prize. Had a relatable fun video of him that ask him more questions about global warming. Muslim did Dr. Velma Scantlebury White, the first African American transplant surgeon. Higlight the bias she went through in the medical industry. Naharai had Michelle Obama, and I got reminded about that horrible pizza I had in middle school thanks to her kids eat healthy movement. I wish the presenter talk about more of Mrs. Obama since she has a lot of achievements and accolades that could be discuses. Oliver did Sara Blakely who I was not familiar with until today. She was the first female billionaire, and she did it with no investor helping her. And donated half her net worth to charity. I think she is very admirable, and I have grown an interest into n=knowing more about this woman. Oliver also did well with getting through his presentation in a time crunch. Mauel and Miley did a great job at project manager again, answering any questions we had in a timely matter. Also was very fascinated with our change makers.
